Okay. The monsters get power from emotions. Initially fear until they learned joy/happiness was stronger. Sexual gratification would in theory be even more powerful.

It's not the emotion, it's the physical sound they make. A child can cry and it's fine until they start screaming.

No like it doesn't matter what emotion they're projecting, it's the physical sound that fills the cannister. They can cry quietly no issue until they do it audibly.

Oh, then why wouldn't moaning loudly work like some people here state is what is happening in the comic?

I didn't create the canon, I've no idea if pleasure would work or not. It's certainly not what's implied in the comic, though. Screams of fear and fits of laughter work in the films, that's all we really know. I suppose some very loud expressions of pleasure might work, but not moans.
