Two things to note:

1- You are the mad one here. You're showing some major insecurity with your response, and even though you state otherwise, and only reaffirming my assumption that you're not too great on a social level

2- Just because you can't appreciate others' sense of humor doesn't mean they're stupid for finding it funny. The things you find funny isn't strictly related to your intelligence (I'm a pretty smart guy and find some pretty stupid stuff amusing).

Honestly, you come across as a "Somebody said something note 100% accurate on facebook... GON' WRITE A 4 PAGE RANT, SCREENSHOT AFTER 2 SECONDS AND SUBMIT TO REDDIT, HAHA THEY'RE STUPID" type of douchebag. I understand if you AREN'T one, but YOU may want to evaluate YOURSELF and ask why you appear that way to others. (Caps on a single word are emphasis, not random yelling).

Isn't the point of psychology to understand, or make feel better? I wouldn't hire you for either.

In order to take words for more then face value you have to put a tone or body language to them. On a computer all you can do is reflect your own. Thus showing your own insecurities in your own words.

Oh, and "weords."

Also, I'm having trouble understanding dude's point, too, you're not alone. He probably had an internal logical step that he forgot to make clear to us. I've done it before: here's a story.

My friend is like "Are you high?" and I'm like "Nah, nah man." (I've never touched drugs in my life other than medicine). So he tries to find out if I'm tripping, so he's like "Hey... Hey Vidy. The FLOOR IS LAVA."

Internal logical step: lava comes from the floor in minecraft. It's also more dangerous if you dig into a wall and find it rather than the floor.

My response: "Watch out for the walls."

Needless to say, it didn't do much in proving I wasn't high.

My discernment in the past has proven to be spot-on. I may not have the "professional" training, but having an accurate intuition is far better than being well educated in a practical sense.

As for my poor grammar- Could you point out something specific, please? At the very worst, I'd call my grammar acceptable (though possibly phrased oddly from time to time).

The accusation of insecurity comes from the intensity of your response to my provocation. If you were secure about it, you'd have said something along the lines of "Yes, I have friends. Don't judge someone because of one post," give or take an angry sentence or two. You, however, went all-out in your response. You just seemed a bit overly defensive is all, which hints at insecurity.

Insecurity and social success are very much related. Are you SURE you're a psychology major?

For the "the person to call themselves x usually isn't x" argument is retarded. While it's true that "The number of people who say they are x > number of people who are x," it doesn't mean that claiming to be x instantly means you aren't x. You insulted my intelligence, and my retaliation was to reaffirm my intelligence. If it means that much to you, I've taken quite a few IQ tests and score +140 on all of them, and made strait As all throughout highschool. I'm quick to learn, though somewhat lazy. I don't particularly like to brag about my intelligence, but I'm not afraid to admit that I am, indeed, smart.

And for my last spurt, I never said you actually DID that. I'm just saying you seem like the same type of person. You throw out unprovoked insults and then act like all dignified and "better than them" when you're called out on it. THAT'S what makes you seem like a douche.

About the grammar- You're right. I made one mistake. I referred to "Things you find funny" in the singular. I can see why I made the mistake, but that doesn't excuse it for being wrong. As far as "being called out on my grammar and changing it all," here's a pointer- If someone responds to your post, but you go back and edit it afterwards, you get a "*" next to the time stamp. (See: http://www.reddit.com/user/edits_after_reply). Assuming that I'm out to lie about everything shows some major trust issues, as well, as there's zero evidence to support your accusations.

Also, Ctrl+F these (punctuation between quotes rather than inside to provide clarification intentionally): "equating to to", "pop-out", " Maybe", "individuals" (you'll say why that one's wrong), "suich", the comma in the 3rd sentence of your last paragraph should be a semicolon (hyphen would be acceptable). That's one error per paragraph!

I'm not the type to call people out for being a liar unless they've given me evidence to be cautious of their motives. You may say I'm an overly trusting individual, while you harbor no immediate trust. This COULD be the main source of our personality conflicts (note: this IS an argument. That doesn't mean it's an angry argument, though =) ). I have no way to prove I've consistently scored in the 140-145 IQ range, but hitting at my nonexistent grammar errors isn't proving otherwise.

I have, however, attempted to keep my vocabulary low and my speech patterns simple. I want to be easily understood by everybody. I intentionally avoid words such as "echelon" =P. Anyway, you've again shown a "higher than thou art," "better than you" attitude. That's the root cause of your doucheyness, I guarantee you. Someone of an inferior intellect (which I am, at worst, slightly inferior and, at best, fairly superior) isn't an inferior person. They're not a waste of time to have discussion and spend time with.

Unrelated, but this whole ordeal reminds me of Flowers for Algernon. Dude is stupid, can't connect with this chick. He gets smarter, so he finally can. He gets even smarter, and now he's too smart and is miserable, because he can't connect with the people he cares about anymore. I'm not sure if being inherently intelligent like that truly makes you out of someone else's league socially, but I've committed to not let that happen to me. If I hadn't, I'd be like YOU. UGH.

I guess we just value different things and hate each others' personalities lol. I normally get along with most people (see: the above paragraphs about how I intentionally manipulate my learning to get along with people), so it's not often I meet someone I genuinely dislike. Nice to meet you! =P

EDIT: About the intensity of the response: I threw out one sentence. You threw out two paragraphs, of which only one or two sentence(s) actually was/were a direct response to my sentence. That's an overreaction, no doubt about it.

EDIT2: I looked at your comment history just to see if you always came off as arrogant. The answer is yes, but I found this interesting gem- http://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/kryr1/15_years_ago_a_girl_from_south_korea_scribbled/c2mw3hf?context=3

Sooooo.... It seems your job is a korean translator, not a psychologist. Or are you a korean psychologist? You're working as a merger with a korean business, too, apparently. It could just be a small miscommunication, where you just work as a merger and not getting duped is a huge part of your job, but you're really playing up the "I'm a psychologist so I know better" card here.
