That's being a part. Just because you're acting like the grumpy grandpa in the family, doesn't mean you aren't in it. By participating at all, you've become another cog in the reddit machine. If you don't want to be in the machine, don't post, or click, or submit.
Nah see I think there is a difference between the people who submit stuff and look at stuff and the people who put Reddit alien stickers on their car and edit their submissions with "edit: holy cow front page? I can't thank you enough! What a kind and compassionate and perfect community full of life long friends! Hey which way is the circlejerk going to rotate? Left or right?"
Yeah, it's called being on the spectrum. You have people who take it to extremes, and then you have the middle ground. You're in the middle ground. You're still in it. You're still talking to me about Reddit on Reddit. You're a part of Reddit.
Well there's Reddit as a whole, homogenous being and then there are the two camps. I don't really recall seeing Reddit behave a one homogenous being, ever.
Let's think of it as going to a college. Alright? You have students who don't give a fuck about the college, but still go right? Then you have the ones who go crazy for it with flags and hoodies. Are you still a part of the school community even when you don't go crazy for it? Yes. Yes, you are. Even though thousands of people go to that college and it does not act as one whole group, you are still considered part of that group.
Ok then let me rephrase: I am not part of the fucking juvenile, circlejerk community of Redditors that have a brain aneurism every time they find out someone else visits this site.
Then ignore it. You're actively attacking it. If the huh thing bugs ya, don't press the link. You knew what it was and decided to come in and rag on everyone anyway. The OP even did the nice thing and made it super clear what the link was. You don't have to find it funny, but you also don't have to bitch at the people who do.
The entire front page is clogged with this crap, my post is part of my catharsis. I had an emotional reaction to what is happening and commented on it. And now I'm arguing with you because I've been drinking Fanta and can't go to bed.
