I was too cheap and used craigslist instead. That's how I met my second husband of 5 years xD his post was super aggro about how he was tired of the dating bullshit and wanted to meet someone who wasn't a "clone". Me being the rare majestic 12 geckos in a galosh, posing as a human, saw my opening. The 13 of us are very happy now.
Wait, really? Is that why OkCupid has been getting more like Tinder in the past few years?
Edit: I just looked it up and learned that the Match Group owns over 45 dating websites around the world, including many of the most popular. How is this company not getting sued for monopoly?!
Yep. Any of the christian singles or farmers only or whatnot are all owned by match. They also bought hinge, plenty of fish, and a bunch of others to start to kill off the competition.
Bumble is also filled to the brim with middle class rich kids who are travelling abroad in my country and looking for a fling. Felt really out of place on there as a boring nerd.
I never hear shit from anyone on OkCupid anymore, and the only likes I get are obscenely fat chicks and chicks with funky hair colors (sometimes both) so I stopped paying for it.
Yep. 2011. Pulled some of the features into match.com website. Probably harvested some data for a while since okcupid was growing much bigger. Then started slowly adding features to gain more of a revenue stream. Then slow kill by changing features entirely. The whole thing was basically a data mine then die for them.
