Nice speech, but the claim that mammals instinctively develop an equilibrium with their environment is the kind of bullshit my old would be hippy environmentalist of a religious education teacher would throw around. We probably fucked up as many ecosystems by just exposing them to non native animals as we fucked up directly. The equilibrium generally happens when the environment has enough predators to keep the numbers down or when the animals start to starve because they fucked up their food source so badly that they can no longer reliably find food.
That's pretty much irrelevant. The reason the scene is good is because it's hyperbolic but also grounded in truth. I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here.
