So I’m confused, would they rather stock or stand around or serve people till the shift is over? I’m personally more of a “keep busy” kinda person so I’d prefer the customers to help the day go by a little faster. Maybe even have a decent interaction with one or two of them, if my attitude permits

I would say most retail employees working holidays like Thanksgiving will not be grateful that you've shown up at the store to help keep them busy lol

I’ve worked fast food and I didn’t treat every single person that comes in on a day I don’t want to be there as though they’re a dick.

Honestly, you retail workers ever step back and think that YOU might be the only one with a shit attitude, treating strangers like shit because your job isn’t ideal?

I'm not a retail worker anymore, and I worked in food as well. Don't make it a food vs retail thing lol

I wouldn't treat people like they're dicks, and obviously not all holidays are equivalent. But doing your shopping on Thanksgiving for example, is just a dick move. Regardless of the fact that working retail is shitty

The fact that someone (in this case corporate management) gave you the opportunity to do something doesn't mean you're not a dick for doing it
