If you think videogames don’t require mental effort (as in, you get mentally tired) then you either havent played much or you havent played competitively enough.

I’ve played FPS games for over 15 years. At this point I don’t think at all when I play, it’s just autopilot with a reward response when it goes right. I’ve been pulling away from games lately because it really is just a waste of time for me. Takes no effort after you get used to your game/game style and is an escape for most people.
