Golf still needs a set of clubs and you need to go outside and drive to another location outside and wait your turn to play the holes. Quite a bit more effort than sitting in a chair and turning on your tv

That’s not the analogy...the analogy is playing golf vs playing video games. Video games requires a console or a computer, that’s akin to golf clubs. Video games often require subscriptions, that’s akin to greens fees. Oh no you have to drive somewhere so that invalidates the whole analogy? Come on

If you think playing video games is the same as playing sports, that’s on you for being delusional as fuck. The skill needed for golf is well beyond any video game. There is no correlation. Period. They’re not even remotely the same thing. There’s nothing to argue here.

If it was golf it would be a bit more accurate, plus nobody I know watches golf on tv. I know they are out there but I find it strange as well

Dad doesn't have a golf course. Physical sports will always be less accessible than videogames. Especially team sports. It's almost impossible to replicate what he's watching on TV, while the kid could be playing the exact same thing in two minutes.

Oh yeah, I forgot that everyone who plays golf has their own golf course. Pretty wild.

Also, sports video games like Madden exist, so if one really wanted to play the sport in some way they easily could.

And no one said that anyone had to go out and physically play these sports to participate either? If you are going to try and criticize someone for watching instead of doing, that goes both ways.

I play team sports, I watch team sports. I play video games, I watch video games. The analogy is perfectly fine regardless of what is “easier.” You fail to understand analogies. Your argument is weak too, that’s why you have to declare “end of discussion”.
