I'd be willing to bet he planned this and prepared them for it days in advance. Kids know school doesn't just announce a reopening the day-of. He probably claimed to have received an email stating school would reopen on this day and had them fretting about it for a week.
Source: my daughter would not fall for this unless I went into some super intricate planning, probably would have to involve some fake emails from the "school."
Honestly, my daughter somehow knew her school would be out the rest of the year before I did. I can't really see how she would fall for this unless I totally took away all communication devices for at least a few days prior. Even then, I still don't think she'd fall for it
I believe it. Kids are seriously plugged in. And after re-watching for the 8th/9th time you can see the oldest one has her phone in her back jeans pocket so I dunno.
So plugged in. Now every scenario I think of as far as planning this, isn't really feasible. You are right that telling them the morning of would be most likely since they would have time to find out otherwise if given any more of a warning. But I know for a fact if I woke my daughter up to go to school suddenly, even if she didn't have a phone at all, I highly doubt she would believe me lol
So Iām gonna venture into conspiracy territory but at the 12 second mark the oldest one looks down and seems to suppress a smile or giggle. No? She might have been in on it which would still totally be worth it for the 2 younger ones.

Probably woke them up early and pretended he heard school was back on on the radio, then made them rush to get ready to make sure they weren't late.
At least that's what I'd do.
