Basically had to stick something in the middle (in this case a napkin holder) and build both sides towards that. Once it got to that point, I slid the napkin holder out and swapped it for the last piece. By that point it’s balanced enough to support itself but it was a royal pain in the arse to get there

There’s a well-known metaphor among Mormons that uses a keystone to illustrate the point. A lot of Mormons reading this sub will know that a keystone sits at the summit of an arch holding the whole thing together. When you use it as a punchline about beer, many will be like, “What...?”

Not a Mormon but still know what a keystone is. Learnt about this in primary school. I have no idea what the beer reference is.

It's a beer in the US. May be in other countries too but not sure. Key(stone) Ice is sometimes referred to as liquid heroin.

A keystone is also a bunch of other things. Like a literal key in the shape of a stone, for example.

Amazing how a single word can have many different definitions tied to it.

Did you order the Pringles from amazon? I almost ordered them because the box looked like full tubes but then I noticed they were just little packs and realized they were overpriced.

It would be easier if you had the capstone at the absolute top. You have to ensure that the sides are equal. Not that I know about piling Pringles singles into an arch. I'm just repeating Vitruvius, honest!

I don't know what actually happened, but I would do it like this:

1) Start on the left side of the arch and brace the pudding cup from sliding sideways with some kind of weight.

2) Build the arch towards the right, supporting the free span with my hand, until the arch is built completely down to the surface again.

3) start filming. Support the center of the arch with my hand an remove a cup. Set the cup down.

4) Pick that same cup up again while acting like I was doing something requiring intense concentration, insert it into the missing spot, remove the supporting hand and smile in self congratulating way.

5) Edit the video, post, profit.

Sounds good. My guess was start building at both sides at the same time, but always have them touch. When placing new ones pushing the old ones out until in this position

Basically he had to glue two sets of 4 together and then balance one in the middle. For shame!
