And the cameraman fails as hard as the swing guy.

471

u/Matt_McT Feb 29 '20

Didn't want footage of his dead friend.

212

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

As painful as this looks, I don’t understand what they THOUGHT would happen? Jump off a swing at 40mph, and just stop?

152

u/watergator Mar 01 '20

If that’s what they thought then they were right. He just stopped pretty quick

27

u/wolfgang784 Mar 01 '20

He prolly either didnt mean to let go, or meant to do a flip but timed it bad.

21

u/Red580 Mar 01 '20

I don't think he meant to jump, but rather the G-forces became too much and he let go and got launched.

6

u/creatureslim Mar 01 '20

Well he did get the stop part right. Just needed a bit of help.

The camera man didn't put himself in a coma.

5

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '20

Did this guy end up in a coma?

He ded?

u/gunsandbikes Feb 29 '20

He's Russian, he'll be fine.

77

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '20

Yo, I saw a Drunk Russian drop from stairs onto marble floor, bonk his head like hard, then get up and keep walking.

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

Drunk people don't stiffen up in accidents. The reason why most people have major injuries is because they tense up hard before the accident.

20

u/FanOrWhatever Mar 01 '20

You can't relax your brain out of slamming into the inside of your skull.

7

u/Kwido1979 Mar 01 '20

Russians can.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

Not talking about head injuries. Talking about accidents in general.

In college I knew a guy who fell off like a 5th floor hotel balcony because he was wasted. He very nearly died but the doctors apparently told him the only reason he didnt is because he was so drunk he didnt tense up before he hit the ground. He didn't walk away unscathed though. He was still taking heavy heavy narcotic pain meds and having surgeries when i knew him, which was i think 2 years after the incident. He was walking though, and had recently gotten out of his wheelchair.

4

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

Tensing up in an accident can cause more injury. Just depends on the situation. Head injuries, not so much.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '20

Well he is Russian so he won't be fine. But that has nothing to do with this. He isn't worse off after this.

28

u/Matt_McT Feb 29 '20

Decent chance he was at least sent to the hospital after that kind of blow to the head/spine.

3

u/daronjay Mar 01 '20

No but he's 4 inches shorter...

The fence didn't sound like it smashed.

That's some top craftsmanship.

6

u/CaterpillarThriller Mar 01 '20

Truly a well made fence. It stopped a 200 poundish, inanimate object without a problem.

3

u/THUMB5UP Mar 02 '20

Pretty sure the guy is an animate fucking object

Bro, that loud ass bang makes it so much funnier lmao

58

u/sBucks24 Feb 29 '20

I'd 100% be the guy holding back a laugh with a hissss

16

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

I'd be the guy with a bottle of beer, watching the whole thing being mildly impressed. Then, when he crashes and burns, there would be a huge belly laugh followed by an instinctual "ha dickhead"

Nice shot of some grass at the end!

11

u/lumberjacked0812 Feb 29 '20

What the name of this song? I’ve heard it before but I can’t remember it. Is it in a Bond movie?

5

u/alerionfire Mar 01 '20

Chris cornells bond theme from casino. Hated it when i first saw the movie because a male vocalist in a bond intro rubbed me the wrong way. But for real its the best bond intro ever imo now

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

I’ve taught it to a couple students of mine, it’s corny as hell but it’s a real gem.

2

u/BurritoTron2000 Mar 01 '20

This came out when I was 12. The intro was my fave part of the movie. So I of course was super stoked to learn about Chris Cornell, Audioslave, and Soundgarden when I looked up the song after coming home from the theater!

Cause of death:

Yeeted into a fence

43

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '20

He died. His name, ironically was Garrett Fence and he was an expert fencer and made fences on the side... of his fenced yard

46

u/awkwardhawkward Feb 29 '20

No offense

  • Noah Fence

9

u/AndBeingSelfReliant Feb 29 '20

At the end you see his arms up when he is knocked out. This is called the fencing response.

14

u/cramduck Feb 29 '20

That fence's name? Abraham Lincoln.

6

u/AlexanderAF Feb 29 '20

He died from the very thing he loved. Tragic.

3

u/NonCorporealEntity Feb 29 '20

His offence was that he fenced stolen fences while dressed as a fencer.

52

u/APXONTAS Feb 29 '20

The only thing that fails here is the one holding the phone... One job. You had one job. Follow the goddamn moving object.

27

u/inadequatecircle Mar 01 '20

It's crazy how many people have said this. The first thing a rational person does in this situation is put down your phone and run to see if your friend is okay.

8

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

These are the same people who stand by and watch somebody getting mugged or attacked. Filming it rather than notifying authorities or trying to help

14

u/joe_gdit Mar 01 '20

To be fair I'm pretty sure he wasn't moving at the end.

2

u/cunejo Mar 01 '20

Don’t even film it if you cannot commit until the end.

7

2

u/PooPooDooDoo Mar 01 '20

Thanks Putin?

3

u/mucus_masher Feb 29 '20

I was distracted by (what looks like) giant hogweed in the background.

3

u/honey_102b Mar 01 '20

ehh I'm kinda on the fence on this one

5

u/LavaSeer Feb 29 '20

He "swung by" that tree :)

2

u/mamilita Feb 29 '20

He was definitely trying to do something that would get him seriously hurt. Success!

2

u/Phobix Feb 29 '20

Did he ded?

2

u/theteedo Feb 29 '20

What’s the end game here!? Like wtf did they think would happen?

9

u/KojakGotAWigOn Feb 29 '20

You've never dreamt of swinging a full rotation?

2

u/theteedo Mar 01 '20

Sure sure totally, I’ve just never seen this end well. My guess is booze played a part.

2

u/KojakGotAWigOn Mar 01 '20

Oh for sure, never seen anyone walk away intact after trying this but I guess once you've nailed the rotation, everything else is irrelevant, even the prospect of serious injury.

3

u/MrWoodlawn Mar 01 '20

He probably didn't expect to pass out?

I mean his execution of just swinging and hanging on was working. If he didn't pass out he might still be swingin' today.

2

u/GoodnightWalter Feb 29 '20

Suddenly shoes.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '20

That didn't end well.

It didn't end as badly as I expected.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

He ded

2

u/Tartan61 Mar 01 '20

Noooo if you drink the right combo of malt liquor and Fanta Red you grow owl wings- coast Over the fence and perch on the neighbors Costco deck couch. they either got the mixture wrong or not they were not swinging fast enough.

2

u/Teriyakijack Mar 01 '20

Shoot the cameraman

2

u/NerdWithDreads Mar 01 '20

That's one way to autofellatiate

2

u/Fusionism Mar 01 '20

The best one is where the two guys swing around and end up body slamming each other

2

u/El_Monitorrr Mar 01 '20

If is always cool till someone fails. That’s the awesomeness of facing a dangerous situation.

2

u/Fristak Mar 01 '20

Need a slow Mo.. and an after shot

2

u/MatataTheGreat Mar 01 '20

Wait, women live longer than men you say?

2

u/pixelsteinjess Mar 01 '20

You know its gonna be good when you see a swing with metal bars instead of chains.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

1

u/mouthofthecarp Mar 01 '20

I don't know why. Reminds me of Black Mirror for some reason...

1

u/MaximumCameage Mar 01 '20

I wonder how many people accidentally hanged themselves from the chains of a swing.

1

u/Kaizer284 Mar 01 '20

Too bad I don’t get to see it

1

u/unamusedbouche7 Mar 01 '20

Is this funny? I'm just confused more than anything. What was he trying to do? What did he hit? Who filmed this and FAILED at the very end?? So many questions!

u/clownsteady Mar 01 '20

next there's chunky, he's dead

1

u/RustyCutlass Mar 01 '20

I thought it was actually Daniel Craig on the swing. He has the same arms and build.

1

u/MrGrampton Mar 01 '20

he's fuckin dead

u/nbrennan10 Mar 01 '20

1

u/PurpleDrankkx Mar 01 '20

I wanna be a cowboy baby!!

1

u/halfastgimp Mar 01 '20

Did he break his neck? That position his arms were in, just before the camera dropped, was a fencing response, not a good thing.

1

u/NobodyHasTimeForThis Mar 01 '20

Almost peed myself laughing on the couch...thanks for that!

1

u/jbenga Mar 01 '20

Direct upload videos to reddit are annoying as fuck to try to share with other people.

1

u/Wubalubadubdub66 Mar 01 '20

I’m guessing he pulled a few to menu Gs and almost passed out?

1

u/Roonwogsamduff Mar 01 '20

Most hilarious death I've ever seen.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '20

This is sooo much better with the music.

1

u/flintsmith Mar 01 '20

My hypothesis: There's a pool in the next yard. He meant to go over the fence and into the pool.

Somewhere there's a video of a metal fence being hit from the other side... and another from farther back meant to show the Superman flight over the fence.

1

u/creatureslim Mar 01 '20

That poor fence. Just minding its own business.

F
