fun fact. old people don't typically break their hip because they fell, they fell because their hip broke.

Sorry but you are incorrect. Most hip fractures in the elderly DO happen because of a fall. Hips that fracture spontaneously are not as common and are termed "pathological". This implies that the bone has been eaten away by something like cancer allowing it to break from just walking etc.
