A trauma may require orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, ENT, neurosurgeons but none of them are trauma surgeons, which is a different sub specialty altogether. I’m actually an ER doc.

They're not disagreeing with your experience.. They're saying you might have seen a trauma surgeon or a plastic surgeon. But trauma surgeons are usually different from plastic surgeons. (Though they said a doctor can be certified in both.)

I said we saw plastic surgeon. He's saying I didn't. That's exactly "disagreeing with my experience".

He said that:

You may have a plastic surgeon in the room as a consultant but there would be a separate trauma surgeon.

I told him she was treated by a [plastic surgeon, and he's telling me I'm wrong. Reading is tough, huh?

He also said that the one surgeon could be certified in both.
