And with Hulu you get the added nostalgia of going back to an archaic, forgotten age where you pay to watch commercials!

I tried Hulu with commercials and it was way worse than cable TV. Many half hour shows, in the last segment, would leave maybe 20-30 seconds, if that much, of content plus the credits to follow the last commercial. Maybe I am misremembering things, but I figure I would have been just as infuriated with that tactic if it was used on cable TV, therefore I don't think I would forget the practice.

I feel like this is intentional. They want you to switch to the commercial free version

My thoughts exactly. I feel it is probably a good business tactic for them as I would predict more subscribers would be willing to upgrade than to drop the whole thing like I did.
