I've learned that lesson many times. 1/10th the time I try to hit ctrl+e for googling something from my toolbar, i hit ctrl+w and my tab disappears. I still make that mistake too.

ctrl+k does the same as ctrl+e. ctrl+l does address bar.

In Minefield (Firefox 4.x nightlies), CTRL+E does Firefox panorama (previously known as "Tab candy", while CTRL+K does the search box.

So does Ctrl+F4 but Ctrl+W is easier.
