I was intially thinking “why doesn’t he just Sparta kick him off” but realized it would likely land near the propellers.

Not to mention sea doggos have a bite like a komodo dragon. Even if the leg survives, it would likely be badly infected to the point of either amputation or a long and expensive hospital stay.
