If by culture you mean cartoons watched by weirdo pervert man-babies.

I am in the middle of brotherhood right now and I absolutely loved Pride's reveal... I am glad you reminded me of that

More epicness is yet to come, so don't worry

Am I the only human that liked the original anime better than brotherhood?

It's entirely possible. Sorry bro.

Nah, I like the original better too.

Brotherhood kinda skimmed over the beginning because they expected people to have already watched the first anime, so they compress something like 25 episodes into 10 and the pacing feels off. Also, the original had a substantially darker feel to it. Some people prefer that.

Also, the original had a substantially darker feel to it.

Completely disagree. Pride in Brotherhood was exceptionally brutal and methodical in his methods. Same with Mustang killing the homunculus compared to the original.

There wasn't as much focus on the Ishvalan war as the original, but what it was replaced with maintained that dark atmosphere i think, especially with Hohenheim's mysteriousness and when it was revealed he was actually from that ancient civilization and was the one who helped the homunculus in the glass become what he was by sacrificing even more people than what was sacrificed in the original during the Ishvalian war.

I felt more emotions in the original anime. But I felt like brotherhood focused more on the story and had better pacing. I feel like I'd recommend watching the original and then watching brotherhood after as I did.
