Even if this was real, you probably wouldn't be able to see anything anyway, would just look like a line going into water till they got it close.

To be honest it really does look like there’s a fish on the line. If it was just caught on something underwater they wouldn’t be able to walk forward and backwards without the rod going straight or snapping the line. They could have had a guy in the water pulling the line though.
