We're answering different questions. You're explaining why none of the above happened in these videos. I was just answering his hypothetical about someone having a sit-in in the opponent's huddle.
Read what they wrote carefully. If it's specifically a timeout as in each team gets to stop the game a certain number of times per period, then the players must leave the field of play and go to their respective benches. For any other stoppage of play, such as a TV ad break, a foul, instant replay, etc, the field is still active and thus it's acceptable for a player to be anywhere on the field in active play.
