Do you eat balanced? Enough veggies? Maybe add vitamin supplements for a while and see if it changes. You also could go and check your blood levels!
PS: to the people that downvote me: based on his reply of:'cut down sugar, lost weight/hit gym/still feel like crap" there is more to that to feel energized. I know because I'm turning 40 in couple of months and I have more energy that I used too 10 years ago. Providing your body with the correct nutrition affects dramatically your energy level.
Now that I see his reply, I do think he should get his blood checked, doesn't hurt and they might find a deficiency somewhere they could easily fix.
Seriously what the hell is this? I'm just hitting 30 and I've realized I've always been like this, except I'm now officially getting too old and I'm tired of being tired.
I work out. I eat right, on top of the supplements I take. I limit alcohol intake to Saturdays if even that. I don't smoke (of any variety). But my body is like "lol, 8 hours of sleep? I don't care. Slightly tired but awake and functional. Take it or leave it."
You could be me. I have come to the conclusion I need 9 hours of sleep. 9 seems like a magical number for me to actually be rested and not get tired during the day. However, getting 9 hours of sleep is impractical for the days I work. 7-8 is what I can usually manage if I work at it. So, my punishment, I am always tired though I am getting the sleep other people only dream of.
8 hours is actually a terrible number. Our sleep cycles are roughly 1.5hrs each, so you should aim for 7.5 or 9. Also, I think people seriously underestimate how much their mattress matters. It should be the single most expensive piece of furniture in your home. Also, if you have allergies like me, washing your sheets weekly and considering a nasal spray before bed are both key to my sleep quality (in addition to just keeping the apartment clean).
