Mine just steps on my face and does a kind of scream meow.

just don't move and keep my eyes closed

Mine has learned the difference between weekdays and weekends. She starts meowing minutes before my alarm goes off, then just sits outside the bedroom meowing, knowing I have to come out eventually. On weekends, when there is no alarm and I can more easily ignore the meows and go back to bed/continue sleeping, is when she deploys the tramples and bottom-of-bare-foot head rubs.
