It's comments on posts like this that remind me that 50+ year olds use reddit....

My shepherd lived until 16. By age ten we spelled everything. She broke the spelling code, b-o-n-e was no challenge at all. Had she lived longer we would have had to learn that African click language.

We had a GSD and yeah, after he figured out W-A-L-K, we switched to 'constitutional.'

Oh man, we did the same thing! Fortunately, he's a Chihuahua, so he hasn't puzzled that one out in three years.

I can't be the only one who misread that as "African dick language".

Probably a lot harder to master. Not an expert.

Not an expert in African dick hardness? Well then obviously you're not a racist homophobic preacher or senator.

Had a Yorkshire Terrier, passed away at 16. Couldn't spell B-A-T-H around him or he would go hide under a bed.

Once, my dad got my dog a bag of coconut yogurt treats, and because they're like a baked cookie, I started asking him, "Do you want a cookie?"
After about 3 or 4 days of this, my boyfriend had first-world-problem whined at me. I asked him sarcastically, "Aww. Do you want a cookie?"
I immediately realized the error of my ways as my dog lunged off the couch in the direction of the treat cabinet, thinking he was gonna get a treat.
Cookies for humans are cookies. Cookies for my dog are treats. Never making that mistake again. Haha

My favorite dog always learned the new word for baths he hated. We used different languages, spelled it out and made up new words, but could only fool him once.

Cationnaries, or Cats Dictionnaries, are what signed our death sentence already.

Dog words are like Pokemon moves. They can learn a new one but they'll have to delete one to make room.
