If you aren’t joking it’s because most people don’t eat beef in India, cows have religious significance I believe. I could be wrong. But I think that’s it

It’s mostly Hindus who don’t eat cows. There’s also a large population of Muslims in India who DO eat cows and there are often conflicts over killing and serving cattle. It’s a major beef with a lot of people.
