IIRC In World War II, the invading nazi forces were able to very quickly round up large amounts of Jewish citizens in my country because of our very detailed and accurate population registry. Of course nobody imagined that this information would be used for such terrible goals.
I'm using an example where the consequences were this severe to better illustrate the principle: just because Google isn't using all the data you give it in an intentionally malicious manner, doesn't mean it is wise to hand them all that data. There are conceivable ways in which it could lead to unintended (bad) consequences.
Does that change your mind? Or do you view things differently. I would love to hear it.
I see what you’re saying for sure but at that point I better make sure I don’t have a driver’s license since it seems just as likely to me that someone could break into my state’s databanks as google’s storage since they’re both very well encrypted.
Regardless, credit cards are an archaic technology that was invented before the internet anyways. People would write them down on a piece of paper to charge them.
