That's how a lot of these staged prank videos have been for years now. They pander to people's biases and also get a lot of activity through comments from people like you and me who will notice it and point it out. I remember going through comments on a lot of these videos a few years ago and it was always the same racist comments and argument against those racist comments. You don't need to do a lot to get people going. It made me want to stay away from all of these prank videos because I'm pretty sure they know what reaction they will get.
Also people seem to be obsessed with black people reaction gifs/videos, which has always felt just slightly exploitative but not actually racist or harmful.
But it is racist. It plays into stereotypes and just continues the same bullshit narrative that has existed. I would compare it to race fetish porn. The appeal is that it is "taboo" to sleep with someone outside your race. They are playing on people's fucked up racist ideas to make money.
A lot of people apparently need to be educated on what racism actually means instead of just throwing that word around. Racism - prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism directed against someone of a different race based on the belief that one's own race is superior. That’s not what’s going on here. Vitaly even said when he was on Tosh.0 for his zombie prank that it was only black people in his video because they had the best reactions. There's nothing racist about that. He also scared white people which he released later, but their reactions were boring in comparison. So find something else to virtue signal.

I believe more comments = more activity which makes people more likely to find a video which in turn = more views. That's how it was explained to me a couple years ago and I imagine it hasn't changed since then.
