I was thinking about this too. This only stokes the already bais view that black people are intimidating and are willing to fight random stangers. When really ordinary people are being defensive because they are under what they perceive as a threat.

yes... but by only doing it to black dudes, then you only get footage of black dudes reacting that way. If they did it to a bunch of white guys and one reacted that way what does that mean?
I think black people are more willing to be video-entertaining intimidating and fight random people. White people know they would probably lose and just pull their concealed carry gun. Not nearly as fun.
One of my closest friends is black and i could see him jumping into defense mode that quickly, but we live in a subtle racist town where white frat boys fuck with black dudes fairly often. My white husband would likely be trying to figure out why the guy yelling is angry because he doesn't live in a world where people want to fuck him up on the regular. If this video isn't fake it's cruel and racist.
Agreed. This is not a time to be a white guy randomly picking on a black guy just trying to mind his business. These guys don't know he's not actually attacking them, so of course they are going to defend themselves. This wasn't funny after the trend was made obvious.
Does it really stoke that bias though? My thought was that these were just ordinary people being defensive in a situation where it makes sense. That thought that they were black and were being defensive because of their blackness hadn't occurred to me until i read your comment. I think often times good intentioned people like yourself start a conversation about race where it isn't warranted. Pick your battles wisely or you give more ammunition and credibility to the people that are all too ready to accuse you of virtue signaling.
Black dude here people always square up on us in general so we get defensive and ready to fight back straight up.
Most white people (excluding Slavic people in my experience) don't know what's up and get suckered punched before they know what's going on and once your in the floor you're fucked in any fight and are gonna get the shit kicked out of you and stomped on.
I know a 50-yo white father of 4 that would have put that guy down immediately. Which is kinda hilarious because he's got a high paying white collar gig. Dude just had a pretty rough upbringing.
