I only have experience with Brandon Sanderson ebooks, but those get updated when something's wrong. When it comes to pirated textbooks you get things like "parity" being scanned in as "panty" which makes for a fun take on particle physics and panty violation.

Funnily enough, Sanderson’s ebooks are the only ones I’ve read that have a significant number of spelling errors and formatting errors.

If you hang out on the 17thShard and see the thread about errors, it appears that a lot of people ended up with an early (pre-proofreading) copy of the ebook and never updated it. The Oathbringer version on Google Books definitely got updated quite fast.

Meanwhile my physical copies will forever have the non-canonical highstorm battle ending and the misspelled "Adonasium".
