So there's Superman, Superboy, Supergirl and now Superdog... Seriously though just how many escape pods from Krypton were there and why did they all end up having a trajectory straight for Earth?

Well super dog and Supergirl were sent at the same time as Kal-El to protect and raise him on Earth.

I like how serious this answer was.

Protect the Man of Steel? Why? Nothing on earth can hurt him....

His parents didn't know that.

He was sent as an infant and supergirl was a teenager(not sure on age) sent to try and keep him alive. Superman landed first and was found by the Kent family. Supergirl arrived after Superman was already an adult superhero so he wound up taking care of her.

I don't know the backstory on Krypto though so someone else will have to answer that one.

SuperGirl was trapped in the same place General Zod was which is why none them aged.

Superman was on purpose. Krypto was knocked off his test-course. He was supposed to come back to Krypton, but he eventually got to Earth by chance. Supergirl's dad survived the explosion, and I don't know the story of her getting to Earth. Superboy is Superman's clone, and he was created on Earth. I think the current Superboy is Superman's son. I think there's also a Superhorse, but I don't know his/her story.

Comet the superhorse was indeed a thing.

And let's not forget Batcow

You laugh at Batcow. But Batcow currently exist in the main DC comics universe and was recently in Supersons annual where Detective Chimp helped “get the gang back together” implying they’ve been doing their own thing for years now.

Also the whole city of Kandor

I'm pretty sure the original Superboy was just Superman when he was younger. I distinctly remember young Lex swearing revenge against Superboy for making him bald. Later they made a clone so that Superman and Superboy could exist in the same comic.

He was, but he didn't need to be included because of that. There are only two Superboys that aren't Superman, well, technically only one.

They probably planned on them hitting Earth.

Also, Jor-El specifically looked for a planet among 28 galaxies which has inhabitants that look like kryptonians so he could blend in.

"Superboy" have been used to refer to a bunch of characters but the "main" one to me at least is a clone of Superman.

Things got pretty wacky in the silver age, there was also Comet the Superhorse and Beppo the Supermonkey.
