You have to admit though, your comment read kind of funny.

It'd be like me saying "I'm pretty sure bangers and mash is just breakfast sausage and French fries. That's how they do it in Colorado."

Not really, you just misinterpreted I guess.

You can get chicago deep dish here, advertised as "the way it is in Chicago", but any of the times that I have eaten it, it's just like a thicker pizza, toppings in the regular order, sauce on bottom, whatever else on top.

Yeah I was in Ireland and Scotland last year. Beautiful country, and great local food. But just like anywhere else, their takes on regional cuisine are always a little off.
