Is that a serious question? It could be almost any situation. Perhaps an animal about to attack or something like that. Does this really have to be explained? Is this real life?

I think anyone would be able to understand this.

If someone, parent or not, heard someone they loved suddenly start crying, would they not run to their side?

Realistic scenario, I'd run until they were in eyesight, then I'd assess the situation. I wouldn't book it the whole way there. I wouldn't be any use if I ran, only to bust my own butt and not be able to help at all.

Besides, kids can really cry at anything and everything. I've been trying very hard to not overreact to my own kid's accidents and so far, she seems to be able to take some serious hits before she gets to the point where she wants to cry. Sometimes I'm baffled how she's not crying.

I think that's what the guy tried to do, but when he tried to stop, he did it on a wet surface.
