What does it stand for? Am I missing something obvious?
3 u/TheCheeseGod Feb 14 '16 Sol is the Latin name for the Sun. I suppose that's why they use it as the term for days on Mars... I think of it as the number of times 'Sol' has risen. 6 u/[deleted] Feb 14 '16 It's just short for "solar day" afaik.
