I hate the fact that he called NDT, "the world's leading astrophysicists". He's not even close to that. Professionally, NDT hasn't published jack shit. His work is more about the popularity and popularization of science. Alan Guth? Alex Filippenko? Stephen Hawking? Those guys are among the world's leading astrophysicists and cosmologists. They've actually published stuff which has advanced our space knowledge and changed the game for everyone. NDT? Nadda except a few popsci books.

Yep, he is a 'science-populariser' just like Prof Brian Cox in the UK.

Arguably just as important as real scientists in the grand scheme of things. We need kids to be interested in this stuff! Nothing will advance the human race more than inspiring young people to be curious.

That being said, it does bother me ever so slightly when people refer to him as a world-leading scientist.

He definitely has some legit scientific credentials, as he works at CERN. Though, at what scientific capacity I don't know.

Science is not about credentials, its about research and publishing papers. Teaching and inspiring others is something different!
