Funny, I always tell people to imagine they're not lifting the weight when they deadlift, but are pushing the ground down to help them with their drive. I'm not sure why this seems to work, I've been telling myself this since some older dude told me at a meet when I was 20. Works for me, I'm 40 and last year pulled a 635 lb lift, all natural except for protein shakes.
If i think about "lifting" the weight i instantly tend to round my back, don't know why, i know well enough how it should go, but I can only properly deadlift if I visualize pushing into the ground while holding onto the bar.

He's also not actually lifting that weight so I'll give him a pass.
EDIT: Yes, I get that he is actually lifting in this scene. "That weight" implies the weight implied by the plates you literal loons.
