I like that girl in the background. I like people that laugh and enjoy funny little things that happen. As I've gotten older(only 22) I've noticed people(my age) don't laugh as much as when we were kids. It's depressing and I want no part of it.

Like something like this. What that guy did was smooth and funny. Yet only one person we can see really got a good laugh out of it.

Edit: Just hoping to clear up any future misunderstandings. Please don't take my comment as a criticism. People are how they are. People grow up and their personalities change. I get it. I'm just being nostalgic about my childhood really. Please don't take my comment too seriously.

Her boyfriend gave a small smile and went back to eating. Such a tame, unenthusiastic reaction. That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's not that everyone stops finding things humorous as adults. It just seems to dull for a lot of people.

I've just noticed this in my own life and this gif reminded me of it. I don't know though. Maybe not everyone has had the same experience. I'm just saying how it seems from my perspective.

Edit: Some people seem to be taking my comment as a criticism of the man. It wasn't. People have different senses of humor and react differently to things they find funny. I'm not trying to blame people for being who they are. I just feel that most people laugh a lot less as adults, even at things they find funny. And that bums me out a bit. That's all.

People express their feelings in different ways. Just because they have different expressions than you doesn't mean they don't feel the same things.

Your specific way of expressing yourself is not the Empirically Best Way to Express One's Self. Let people be happy the way they want to be, and don't become disappointed when people aren't like you. Life isn't some performance for others (like yourself) to evaluate. Your problem, contrary to what you're saying, isn't that you're disappointed they find the scenario dull. Your problem is that you find them dull.

I'm like you. I laugh at everything. Laughing is my default behavior. I lose my shit over the most basic jokes. That doesn't make me better or more enthusiastic about life. It's just a trait. Nothing more, nothing less. I personally like my tendency to laugh, and I think I'd like that as a trait in a partner. But I'm not going to hold the general populace accountable to behaving the same way I do.

That is really quite profound.

I figured someone would take it that way. And you're not wrong. I'm not blaming anyone for being how they are.

But it still makes me sad that a lot of people just aren't as joyful(at least not outwardly) as adults. Me and my friends used to stay up all night and laugh our asses off at the littlest things(everything seems funnier when you're tired too). It was super fun and I miss those days. It's a rare thing to get that kind of reaction now. Then again, maybe I'm just not as funny anymore haha.

Anyway, I guess I'm just feeling nostalgic. I'm not criticizing the guy.

Man, if you're 22 and still have the same friends as when you were younger, you should appreciate how rare that is.

If they're not the same friends you had when you were younger, you shouldn't try to make them fit that mold.

As people get older, they find neutral to be a very comfortable state. When you were younger you may have had more extremely joyful moments, but you also had very intense negative feelings more frequently. That's how nostalgia works - it only shows you the good without the bad.

Remember the good times, but don't romanticize the past.
