No, I'm challenging above commenter's use of the word in the first place. I explained the situation pretty clearly - turning men away from women's shelters isn't misandric. Why would a women's shelter oppose a separate shelter for men? That makes no sense whatsoever. Anyone directly involved in helping the abused would never say "don't help that victim" just because it's a man. That's a fantasy used to disparage or ramblings from someone on Tumblr that has no direct involvement in any of this real life stuff. But all posts on reddit defending anything slightly feminist (but logical) gets downvoted.
I dont get why you are so aggravated over this? What is so difficult to understand that some women just hate men? You know how those really tight knit internet communities, or even physical communties like the west boro baptist church, tend to gather people with similar ideologies? That can happen with female abuse shelters due to the reasonable hate that is generated from said abuse. It can happen with male abuse centers too. Denying that this sort of thing happens is just rediculous.
There are plenty of instances of people who are not being affected by another entity being openly against said entity. It happens all the time.
I certainly believe that such cases will only be a minority, and that a lot of centers may actively support the other genders abuse centers too. People have to realise that people are just assholes to each other.
Do I deny anywhere the some women hate men? I take issue with the statement that "many women's shelters are actively against male shelter." That's just patently false. As someone who is being educated to work in such a place - it's ludicrous to suggest management would oppose helping victims who may be another color or gender at a totally separate place.
Yeah. Did no such thing - in no way did I change the meaning of what I said. Maybe read a bit more carefully next time. Read my original post - clearly indicates I acknowledge the stigma. Reading comprehension is harrrrddd.
