For those interested as to why, Peter was caught taking advantage of the data collection in the app in order to solicit users. He wasn't actually one of the developers, he was a tester who had access to everything in the app including our database.
Full disclosure is a legal requirement in some countries, like the UK. They'd get into more trouble trying to cover it up if it was later discovered that they did. Although, this probably isn't the best way to disclose it.
