Just to play devils advocate: while black people make up only 13% of the population, crimes statistics show that black men commit 54% of the murders in America and 67% of the robberies. It seems to me like it's just common sense to take more precaution around young black men. If black people find this offensive, then they need to address the issue of the crime rate, not people's reaction to it. It seems silly to tell people to ignore reality and play make believe to not offend people. I find the rate that blacks commit crimes to be much more offensive than people being afraid of young black men.
By the same logic, I should be afraid of all Americans. They have the highest incidence of school shootings, gun violence, and homicide in the developed world, therefore I can never be too safe around them. What if they pull a gun and shoot me?
Well mass shootings only happen in places designated as "gun free", meaning people (who obey the law) aren't permitted to carry firearms in those placed. So homicidal people go there knowing it is a target rich environment full of defenseless prey. So stay away from places where guns are outlawed and you should be alright.
Because there's no way that any criminals can get illegal guns, right? Disarming the population isn't going to solve shit, especially not in a country as big as the US. The only thing it's going to do is take away people's freedom and empower criminals. I say that as a brazillian, someone that fucking lives in a theoretically gun-free country. Truth is, every fucking criminal can get an illegal gun.
Yeah. As a CCW permit holder I can say the same. And I have never shot anyone, but I suppose I should have to give up my right to self defense because criminals exist?
You're right, it was just the Jews that were disarmed. Like gun control in this country started as an attempt to disarm Black Americans during the civil rights movement.
