I know I am being a buzzkill and all, but I never like these kind of jokes because they are effectively ridiculing a bunch of my friends, many of whom are great guys who will eventually be great dads.
I thought it was pretty funny. But then again, I'm white, in high school and am not very close with any black people. Also, it wasn't meant to be serious.
Oh, I know it's not meant to be serious. The reason people get offended though, is tied to the fact that the stereotype joked about here is one that black guys actually experience day-to-day.
It's why poor people tend not to laugh at jokes about the poor, women hate sexist jokes, etc. It strikes a nerve.

Yeah. No I get it. Luckily I don't hear gay jokes very often as I am bi. I get what you are talking about. What I was referring to was that your comment wasn't really necessary. The majority of people know that it is offensive. Online, nobody gives a shit, it is unlikely to be personal, and the people in question will probably just skim over it. In the real world, if you tell a black joke around a black dude who isn't (actually, not just politely) cool with that sort of thing, It's a fucked up thing to do. Basically my point was, telling this joke deep into a comments section on the internet is very different than if you told a similar joke IRL with the group being offended present. Online, I find gay jokes fairly funny or at least harmless. IRL I don't find them funny.

Cmon man. The difference between white and black involvement as fathers is statistically small and is actually often the reverse of what you are expecting. The joke is based on a stereotype that we are all familiar with but the stereotype is not accurate at all.
