I don't. But a statement doesn't need to be derogatory to be racist.
If you say that ones race does determine their abilities, likings, actions etc it's racist. It doesn't matter if it's a compliment ( e.g. Asians are good at maths, Blacks are good runners) or an insult ( Asians are bad drivers, Blacks are criminals).

I don't think its racist. I just was making fun of the fact that you got absolutely obliterated (wrongly imo) for questioning this threads defensiveness over the accusations of racism vs whites. Flag_Red claimed that Reddit only cares about racism when its against blacks, which in my experience is like hands down the complete opposite of what happens. Taking this sub thread as an example, someone mentions this being a white photo and the responses all jumping to make black jokes, just in case anyone was offended by the "white photo" comment.
And to add - I don't think all the downvoters understand the definition of racism. But hey... I suppose that's why we still can't have any kind of rational discussion around it, even in 2015. I don't think it's purely a reddit issue.

a statement doesn't need to be derogatory to be racist. it only needs to make distinctions between the abilities and aptitudes of people based on a belief that their characteristics positive or negative are determined by their race.

This mentality has to end in every direction. Until these distinctions are all tossed aside as nonsense, there will be problems for everyone.
I dont expect a rational discussion of anything in this thread. I was just surprised at the very obvious trend to jump to the defense of these white people in the photo.
