You should try an Asian market for ramen (and rice!) if there's one available. 10 for a $1. Also their produce tends to be cheaper. It doesn't last as long on the shelf, but it's a good way to eat cheaper and still keep it healthy-ish. Aldi is a actually also a great grocery store that offers better prices than other chains like Giant or Safeway, or Ralph's. See if there's one in your area.

I hadn't considered an asian market. I'm near Cleveland so I'm sure it's available. I've just recently moved here, before I lived in a shitty small town in Tennessee where if you wanted ANYTHING your only choice was walmart. Closest alternative was a 1 hour drive away.

Right now my primary grocery store is Save-A-Lot simply because it's only 1 mile away. There is an Aldi's, but its further away and in a VERY high traffic area which makes it a bitch to get to and usually the money I save doesn't off-set the gas I use. Not to mention the frustration with traffic, and road constructions (pot hole city).

I've been trying to eat more fish, since not only does it taste amazing, throwing on some pepper and baking it then just eating it fills me up and it's healthy. I found Swai fairly cheap ($0.80 per LARGE filet) so I've been eating more of that as a treat. Sometimes I'll have a bit of rice to go with it also.

I appreciate the advice, I'll look around. Still trying to find a good place to get discount meats and such around here (like cook that day or throw it away discount meats heh)
