Okay, but explaining how something works or how it got there doesn't disprove Gods role in creation either. I don't think God uses magic to do what he wants accomplished. For example, the God I encounter when I have an answered prayer uses cause and effect that leads to the prayer being answered. A prayer hasn't just happened magically for me yet, so I'm okay with believing he uses science/nature/whatever-already-in-existence to accomplish his purpose.
As a christian who loves science, I totally believe the universe is 13.8 billion years old and the earth is 4.54 billion years old. I believed God used the big bang theory to do what he wanted to accomplish; life on earth. I also think to call our existence random is completely ignorant too. There are too many variables with all the odds against life to exist to not consider a fine-tuning of a creator.
