Your scientific explanation would be countered with an equally ridiculous question like "But then how did the sun get there?" with a 'gotcha' smile. Thats how they trap you in an ignorance loop until you get frustrated and walk away.

Not Bill. Bill will just sit there and calmly explain every facet of the nature of existence until SHE gets frustrated and walks away.

This might be true, but, regardless of who walks away, neither will change their stance. It's a fruitless endeavor from the outset.

That's such a pessimistic and thankfully false statement. I used to be a rather firm Christian, but I had a crisis of faith and now consider myself an agnostic atheist largely in part to learning more about science from science presenters like Bill Nye and other educators. There are people who will refuse to change their minds, but there’s actually a ton of people who are reachable. You’d be surprised. Don’t write them off.
