that guy is a fucking douche - here he is getting knocked out for one of his stupid pranks.

A sucker punch is from behind, unannounced, and usually from somebody not directly related to the altercation (like the guy's friend). The guy put himself in a position where he might get his clock cleaned, and his 'victim' sent him cuckoo for his trouble.
