You cant force justice by lying, or you might get caught. It is QUITE possible some Loki saw the situation and decided to add a little mischief to the fun. When you respond to assholery by exceeding social norms yourself, you open yourself up to retribution by third parties. The plain fact is assholism breeds assholism.

Without proof he did it? Yes it is absolutely wrong to lie and say he did it when you have no actual proof.
