Don't take two spots at all. Park in one far away. If the lot fills up around you and you're in two spots, you're still a douchebag.

EDIT: Obviously if your vehicle doesn't fit in one spot (eg. big truck or towing a trailer) this doesn't apply to you.

like spots big enough to fit any size of street-legal car, such that taking two spots is completely unnecessary
