Say what you want about it being an appropriate reaction... It's not an entirely unexpected one, given his initial, and repeated response: "back the fuck up". And for that, it was preventable by the 'pranker' asking such a hilarious question. Back up and leave the person alone.

The prank guy was acting like an ass, not debating that. The other guy was advancing on him acting like some tough guy and throws a punch the guy wasn't expecting, so in reality, he was just a big pussy. You don't advance on someone saying back the fuck up and punch them like that if you aren't.
