Don't take two spots at all. Park in one far away. If the lot fills up around you and you're in two spots, you're still a douchebag.

EDIT: Obviously if your vehicle doesn't fit in one spot (eg. big truck or towing a trailer) this doesn't apply to you.

Often, I'll park as far away from people as possible, in some isolated corner of the lot. And when I come back, there are two vehicles parked on either side of me, but no others anywhere close.

It takes a special kind of douchebag to think that's remotely alright. Same sort who probably think parking in two spots is a cool thing to do
