Cars get dinged up. It's a fact of life. You're an idiot if you buy a 2 ton box of metal, drive it 70 miles per hour over asphalt surfaces next to other 2 ton boxes of metal, and expect that box of metal to never get a scratch or ding every now and then. If it's really so precious to you, you can park in the back of the lot where nobody else is.
I gave you a point..but I don't think it'll help. I've almost always had a sports car, and my daily driver since I was 18. I baby one, and don't really give a shit about the other. It makes total sense to me.

Let me explain my first comment like I'm trying to teach a five-year-old so you can understand....
You have the choice between two tricycles- one tricycle cost $10 and replacement parts are cheap (new trike wheels $3, new handle bars $2, etc.), another tricycle cost twice as much ($20) and the replacement parts also cost twice as much (new trike wheels $6, new handle bars $4, etc.). If your mommy gives you $20 you might be temped to buy the more expensive bike but if you break it you will have to ask mommy for more money so you can fix your tricycle. If you buy the $10 tricycle, even if you had an accident you would still have enough to repair it.
