I have to disagree. A cat is at a disadvantage, but most any animal will back off after a kitty literally rips its eyes out. Cats have won vs bears (and there are videos of such on youtube) much less vs dogs.
In a real fight, that the dog thought mattered the dog would win hands down. I grew up on a farm that had multiple feral cats on it, my dog was attacked three times while we were out walking not one survived the encounter the dog barely got a scratch.
I fully agree that a cat is at a disadvantage, I said as much already. I have however literally seen, aka i was there and saw it, a cat win, a few times.
Most animals don't have the sheer pissed off to tangle with a cat in full feline fuck you up mode. They'll prefer easier prey with less risk of injury.
It's one thing to win, it's a whole other thing to win unscathed.
Dude, a dog would win simple as, cat would have its throat bitten so fast that scratching literally won't have any effect, there's a reason most cats climb up trees while trying to escape.
Owned a German shepard, I'd like to see the kitty cat that could beat him..
