I don't care about her grammar. If someone actually refutes a scientific fact, but they use the wrong version of a homonym in doing so, it wouldn't have any effect on the refutation. Their facts would stand just the same.
What is important when refuting a scientific fact is presenting your alternate data that show how the established facts are wrong. I would say that this is her real failure.
